To Catch a Cloud Up on the top of my castle I can see a whole landscape, the farms, the field, the people, the weather. I see the clouds come and go. I see the children born and grow. I see the lives lived in rhythm with the seasons. The colors change. The snow it blows. The clothing the children wear matches. And I, up in my castle, see the whole of life laid out for me. Come and go. Come and go. Come and go, like the clouds. I do not run or chase the clouds. I let them be, billow, grow, fly away, I put on a fire when the wind blows. I sit in the sun when they allow. For no matter how tall my castle may make me, no matter how high I may see, I am still not tall enough, strong enough, mighty enough, to catch a cloud. - JP |
